Tanji, Nancy H. Age 85, of Brooklyn Center, passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 5, 2019. She was dearly loved by husband, Yoshiro (deceased); four sons, Mike (Colleen), Dave (Kyoko), Todd (Patty), Ken (Kris); twelve grandchildren, Chris, Steve, Ellie, Sondra, Jay, Maggie, Natasha, Anna, Laura, Jonathan, Katie, Gavin; three great grandchildren, Evan, Skye, Adelyn; and many close relatives and friends. Born and raised in western Pennsylvania, she received a B.A. in Home Economics from Indiana Teachers College (1955). She married Yoshiro in Cleveland, OH (1957) and moved to Seattle, WA (1958), Rochester, NY (1959), then Minnesota (1962). She was active in many community organizations including the League of Women Voters and, as a highly prolific seamstress, The Sewing Guild. She served as chef at Camp Manakiki in Waconia and worked as a bookkeeper for International Multifoods. An avid sports fan, she had a special love for the MN Twins. She enjoyed going out to see music and arts events and traveling to visit her sons.
