Ahlm, Walter G. Age 91 of Minnetonka. After serving in the Navy, Walter began working with his brother in the cement business and eventually started his own business, Walter G. Ahlm Co. In retirement, he took a part-time position as a security guard at the Cargill Corp. Hdqrs, where he worked for 10 yrs. In his final years, he lovingly cared for his wife of 70 years, Ellen, until she passed away in 2017. Walter was a follower of Christ, a faithful husband, loving father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by wife, Ellen Esther (Arolin) Ahlm; parents, Lars and Emma Ahlm; and brother, Arthur Ahlm. He is survived by daughter, Connie Pratt (Larry) of Matthews, NC; son, Bradley Ahlm (Dawn) of Mpls; grandchildren, Angela Pratt (Greg Weddle) of Greenville, SC, Garrett Ahlm, Daniel Ahlm and Amanda Blake (Kallan) of Mpls; sister, Mabel Gutting of Mpls. Funeral 2:00 PM Thurs., March 14 at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
