Jacobson, Dorothy Ruth (Strom) of Fridley (formerly of Mora) age 90 passed away peacefully with family around her on Feb. 22, 2019. Dorothy was a retired pediatric nurse from Unity Hospital. She was a life member and chaplain for the Fridley VFW and Fridley American Legion Auxiliaries and the historian for the WWII 96th Infantry Division. Dorothy was preceded in death by parents, Walter Strom & Genevieve Campbell; loving husband of 46 years, Gerald; grandson, Justin Johnson; brother, Robert Strom; nephew, Leroy Salmonson; niece, Ann Wessel. She is survived by daughters, Beverly (Kevin) Herkenratt, Susan (Michael) Schornak, Janet (Paul) Kleeberg; grandchildren: Jeremiah (Kelsey) Johnson, Joseph (Rachel) Johnson, Joseph Herkenratt, Jacob (Morgan) Schornak, Peter (Taylor) Szornak, Rachel Schornak; step- granddaughter, Katie (Kyle) Schlesser; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger (Joyce) Strom, Willard (Barbara) Strom, Clifford (Cheryl) Strom; sister, Myrtle Strom; sister-in-law, Patricia Strom; former son-in-law, Dan Johnson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. The family would like to thank Landmark of Fridley, Allina Hospice, and Kim C. for the wonderful care she received during hospice. Visitation Wed.
