Yates, Darrell Richard "Hap" Age 86, of Minneapolis passed away Fri. December 14, 2018. Nicknamed "Hap" which is short for "Happy" by his mother Dora, Darrell was a life-long lover of humor, practical jokes, and puzzles. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harlan. After serving in the Korean War, Darrell used the GI Bill to get a degree in Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota which he practiced for years in Minneapolis before starting his own business, KY Industries which he owned and operated for more than 20 years. Darrell is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara; step-daughter, Christelle (Leland); his two granddaughters, Vivienne and Camille; and other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10am on December 27 at Linden Hills Congregational Church, 4200 S. Upton Ave, Mpls, MN 55410. Memorials preferred to Linden Hills Congregational Organ Fund.
