Barnes, Barbara J. (Toole) Passed away peacefully on September 22, 2018, at the age of 87. Loving, faithful, creative and kind. Preceded in death by her husband, Richard Barnes; her parents, Marybelle and Arlie Toole; sister, Patricia Lampe. Survived by her three children, Jim Barnes (Melinda), Dan Barnes (Alison), Jennifer Barnes, sister Peggy Sperry, 6 grandchildren and many nieces/nephews. Born in Oregon, she grew up in many towns in the Midwest, including Duluth, MN and Hancock, MI. A lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, graduated from UM-Duluth, an artist and homemaker. She and Dick were married in Duluth in 1951 and retired to their lakehome near Stillwater, MN in 1990. Her kindness and hospitality touched many people. She was a wonderful artist & naturalist, avid bicyclist, skier & golfer, enjoyed traveling & spending time with family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. Visitation Sat.
