Robert E. 'Bob' Matson

Matson, Robert E. "Bob" of Edina, died September 15, 2018. Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Mildred Matson; stepfather, Maxwell Weiby; & sister, Jean Anne Perry. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Francy; son, Tom (Shannon) Matson; grandchildren, Morgan & Tyler Matson; brother, Jim (Jane) Matson; nieces, Catherine (Matt) Dubbe, Mary (Stuart) Latta, Anne (Brian) Marty, Jennifer (Eric) Paulson, Meg (John) Peters and Melissa Robillard. Bob was born on April 8, 1944 in Minneapolis and grew up in Edina. A Hornet football & hockey player, Bob graduated from Edina HS in 1962. Bob and Francy married on June 3, 1967. They enjoyed hosting friends and family at their home and on Lake Sylvia. He spent his career as a Realtor. Special thanks to the staff at Our Lady of Peace hospice. An informal celebration of Bob's life will be September 24th, 2018 6:30pm at Edina's Centennial Lakes Pavilion.
