Birtzer, Larry N. Age 78, of Apple Valley died unexpectedly but peacefully on May 19, 2018. Larry was born September 10, 1939 in Eau Claire, WI to Norman and Alyce Kirkham Birtzer. He later moved to Elkhorn, WI, graduating from Elkhorn High School in 1957 and Wisconsin State University, Whitewater, in 1961. He was preceded in death by parents Norman and Alyce Birtzer; and son, David Birtzer in 1965. During his working years in the computer industry, he travelled many places in the world, including living in Singapore from 1990-1993. His dream to "retire to the lake" began in 2000 along with many RV trips throughout the U.S. & Canada. He was a devoted and caring husband, dad, grandpa, and friend. Survived by wife Mary Birtzer, son Mark Birtzer (Becky), daughters Kathy Sullivan (Jim) and Carol Strecker (Mike), grandchildren Shane, Clint, and Luke Birtzer, Jake and Amy Sullivan, Teagan and Torin Strecker, Kate and Erik Engstrom, and sister Mary Loveless. Memorial service will be held at South Suburban Evangelical Free Church, 12600 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd, Apple Valley MN on June 6, 2018 with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at the church. Memorials preferred to CaringBridge.
