Vernon H. Filips

Filips, Vernon H. Age 82, of Surprise, AZ, formerly of Bloomington MN, passed away on March 27, 2018. Vernon was born in Crofton, NE, to Otto and Hilda (Lammers) Filips. He graduated from Holy Trinity, in Hartington, NE, continuing his education at the University of Nebraska. Vern was an avid golfer, hunter, and devoted to his family and friends. He will be missed. He enriched the life of those around him. He is survived by his wife, Natasha "Tee", his children and their spouses: Mark (Julie) Filips, Christine (Steve) Leitgen, Steve Filips, and Doug (Lisa) Filips, step daughter Elizabeth (Rick) Hornnes and 10 grandchildren, brothers and sisters and spouses: Charlene Neely, Adele Promes, Roseanne/Rodney Kincaid, Richard/Pru Filips, and Clifford Filips, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, his best friends Rick/Marilyn Wigand and Wayne Schmidt. He is preceded by his parents, his first wife, Betty (Wieseler) Filips, sisters, Yvonne Garcia and Janet Beck, and brother, Gerard Filips. A memorial service is planned at a later date.
