Temple, Robert Lyle "Bob" Robert Lyle Temple was born Dec 13, 1928 in Hill City, MN, to Ray Arthur and Edith (Hamlin) Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Frances, Cecyle, Janice, and Doris. Bob passed away March 18, 2018, at the age of 89 years from complications of Alzheimer's. Bob graduated from Hill City, MN, and enlisted in the Army near the end of WWII. He was stationed in Germany and worked with the sound and recording systems during the Nuremberg war trials. In 1952, Bob married Mary Ruth Hawkinson. They lived happily ever after for the next 65 years, until his passing. Bob is survived by his wife Mary and his children, Michael A. (Marilyn Snelson) Temple, Tamara P. Temple, Ruth R. (Lise M. Dyck-man) Temple; grandchildren Anna, David, Heidi, Rachel, and Chelsea, and great-grandchildren Collin, Alexis, Ava, and Justin. Bob is also survived by his younger sister Marilyn Anderson of Beaverton, OR. He has many nieces and nephews, making a very large and beloved extended family. Bob graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts, and later a Masters in Education. Bob first taught in Harrisville, MI, and then came back to Minnesota to teach mainly in the St. Paul Public Schools. Bob taught English, French, Spanish, and Creative Writing for 40 years. Bob loved writing poetry and was a member of the Minneapolis Poetry Society. He had several poems published over the years, including in the Midwest Chaparral magazine. Memorial Services start at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 23, 2018 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis. A graveside service will be held prior at 1:30 PM at Lakewood Cemetery.
