Anderson, Mary Julia Age 100. Long time resident of Richfield, MN died on February 25, 2018. Preceded in death by loving husband, Milton, her parents and all of her siblings. Survived by children Sharon (Joseph) Dudziak, and Julia (Ian) Abel; four grandchildren Greg (Kristina) Dudziak, Pam (Jaci Sauer) Dudziak, Trevor (Meagan) Abel, and Jemma Abel; four great granddaughters Justina, Katrina, Olivia and Delilah. Milton worked for NWA which gave them the opportunity to travel all over the world. She was an avid reader but never fiction, mostly biographies and information on places they had visited. She also had a special love for their lake cabin in Avon, MN which they generously shared with relatives and friends. During the Depression in her teens she began playing softball with the neighbor kids. Their team became a girls team when the boys quit because the girls got too good. Their team, the Rinky Dinks, was invited to play in a tournament at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair, A Century of Progress. That led to her lifelong passion for baseball. For the last seven years of her life she resided at The Pines in Richfield. The family would like to thank The Pines for the loving care they gave Mary during the last seven years and also thank Fairview Hospice and their volunteers for their wonderful help and support in her last weeks. Memorial service on March 19, 2018. Visitation at 10:00 AM, followed by mass at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 6730 Nicollet Avenue South in Richfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. Private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetary at a later date.
