Rozeboom, Ted 66, of Wayzata, MN, died after a valiant battle against esophageal cancer on February 26, in Carefree, AZ. Ted was born in Fergus Falls, MN, on April 14, 1951. He married his wife of over 45 years, Deb Knudson, on August 19, 1972. Ted and Deb raised two children, son Ben and daughter Sam. Ted practiced architecture for over 40 years. He was an exceptional visionary and master planner who specialized in the planning and design of educational and civic buildings. His portfolio is highlighted by many award winning, innovative educational projects for school districts in seven states. Ted lit up the room with his thoughtful, personal style and was always gracious and easy to work with. He worked closely with numerous associate architectural and construction firms throughout the United States. Ted graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in architectural engineering from Iowa State University in 1973. He started his career at HDR in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1981, Ted joined HGA Architects in Minneapolis, where he worked for 14 years as a Principal and Education Studio Leader. Ted started his own firm in 1996, which became RMA, where Ted's educational planning and design work flourished. After twelve years, RMA merged with Perkins & Will, where Ted was a Principal and Education Market Segment Leader. In 2011, Ted continued as a consultant, working with other firms until his passing. Ted will be remembered as one of the most talented educational planners and architectsalways chasing perfection. He left a wonderful legacy. Ted's close-knit Rozeboom Clan was largely the result of the warm and welcoming hearts of Ted and his wife, Deb. They provided a physical and emotional setting for family gatherings and a closeness that will endure for generations to come. Ted will be missed by so many who loved him wife Deb, son Ben, daughter Sam, brother Ken (Deb), sister Anita (Rich), sister Katy (Butch), sister Juliana, brother-in-law Sumner Knudson (Patti),11 nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews, and many friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dirk Rozeboom. Please join Deb and her family in celebrating Ted's life (and his birthday) on April 14 at Burl Oaks Golf Club, 5400 North Arm Drive, Minnetrista, MN, from 4:00-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Ted's name. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary.
