Hoenig, Mitchell Ryan 20, of Plano, TX passed away on Feb 25, 2018. He was born on May 27, 1997. Mitchell is survived by his parents, Aaron and Ann; his sister, Megan, at UPitt; his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Cecilia Hoenig of Lindsay, TX; maternal grandparents, George and Carol Olson of San Jose, CA, and Sharon Olson of Plano, TX. He is also survived 16 aunts and uncles and 17 cousins across MN, TX, VA, and CO. Mitchell earned the National Merit Scholar designation and attended U of M pursuing a double degree in Biochemistry and Psychology. He had scored in the 99.7th percentile on his MCAT with intention of continuing on to medical school. Mitchell was a member of FIJI and worked as a TA for U of M. He loved playing basketball and owned his unique sense of fashion. Mitchell brightened the lives of everyone around him with his humor and compassion. He made friends everywhere and had a positive impact on everyone he met. Mitchell's organ donations are saving multiple lives. Memorial to be held on Wed, Feb 28, 2018 at 7pm at the Campus Club of U of M, 300 Washington Ave SE, 4th Floor Student Union. In lieu of flowers, a fund for a memorial park bench and a scholarship has been set up in his honor.
