Tyacke, Linda A. (Jensen) Linda A. Tyacke, after celebrating her 36th wedding anniversary on January 29 and her 62nd birthday on January 30, passed away at home surrounded by her family on February 6 after a valiant battle with metastatic breast cancer. Linda was born in Duluth, MN to Robert and Frances Jensen, and currently resided in Wayzata, MN. She is predeceased by her parents and her father-in-law, Warren Tyacke. Linda is survived by her husband Steven of Wayzata; daughters Katy Tyacke of St. Louis Park and Molly (Travis) Fedor of Chanhassen, MN; granddaughter Aria Grace; and her beloved dog Tiki and several grand dogs. Linda is also survived by sister Peggy (Doug) Simensen, nieces Lynn Simensen (John Chalstrom) and Mary (Troy) Rasch, mother-in-law Barbara Tyacke, of Duluth, MN; sisters-in-law Kathleen (Trevor) White of Sun City AZ; and Jennifer (Joe) Dansby of Eagan, MN; nieces and nephews Sara Stevens, Ryan White, Jake Dansby, Jared Dansby, Michael and Natalie Rasch, Noah and Madelyn Stevens, dozens of Jensen first cousins and related families. Linda graduated from Duluth East High School and the College of St. Scholastica with a degree in Health Information Medical Records. She was employed by Essentia Health/ St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth for 30 years in health information management, and as a health information management consultant in Northern Minnesota. She also taught piano lessons and served for 25 years as co-organist, adult and children's' choir director and bell choir director for Kenwood Lutheran Church in Duluth where she was a faithful member and Sunday School leader. While living in Duluth, Linda was active in numerous civic organizations, including, Women of the Duluth Superior Symphony and Law Advocates of Minnesota (formerly Lawyers' Wives of Minnesota), Duluth East Side Steppers, and parental recital assistant (and dance Mom) at Stacy's Studio of Dance. After relocating to the Twin Cities in 2005, Linda was a college instructor in health information management for St. Catherine University for 10 years. She was also a great student mentor and took great care and compassion in placing her students as interns with various Twin Cities hospitals and clinics. Living in Wayzata, Linda was active in a variety of civic organizations, including Feed My Starving Children, Interfaith Outreach Community Partners, Wayzata Library Volunteers, Wayzata Volunteers, volunteer pianist at Folkestone Presbyterian Home and recently worked on a task force with the city and MDOT to beautify, design and plant the South 101 exit into Wayzata. Linda was an active member of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church and had many great friends there with whom she enjoyed skiing, crafting, cooking, dining and playing bridge. Linda had a tremendous zest for life and an irrepressible spirit of optimism and positivity. She was very interested in politics and was an avid news watcher. She also enjoyed Zumba, fitness classes and walking at the YMCA, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, crafting and took up playing bridge within the past year. Linda enjoyed family vacations and travelled worldwide on many trips and cruises, with family or their close friends. Linda and Steve together enjoyed the local happenings, dining destinations and walking about their home town of Wayzata. She especially looked forward to "grandparent daycare" every week, when she and Steve were privileged to contribute to the nurturing and upbringing of their granddaughter Aria Grace. Linda at all times, and even during her recent illness, maintained and was known for her great care and compassion toward others. She always made every effort to get to know everyone she met or cared for her, and empathize about others' family and their personal concerns. The family wishes to express special heartfelt thanks to Linda's caregivers at Minnesota Oncology, Virginia Piper Breast Cancer Institute and Heartland Hospice Care. A memorial service will be held at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, 17205 County Road 6, Plymouth, MN on Sunday, February 11 at 2:30 pm, with a visitation with family and friends preceding at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Interfaith Outreach Community Partners, Plymouth MN; St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, Plymouth MN; Virginia Piper Breast Cancer Institute, Minneapolis, MN; or the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Chaska, MN.
