Carlson, Duane Stuart "Stu" died Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Stu was born August 12, 1935 in Geneva, Minnesota to Sylvia and Joseph Carlson. He was a graduate of Ellendale High School and the University of Minnesota. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Stu began his career at Haskins and Sells and earned his CPA certificate. He cofounded Lee Data and later NetStar. He especially enjoyed being involved with start-up companies as a financial and business consultant and was on several Boards of Directors. Stu was a World War II history buff and enjoyed reading, traveling, good wine, winters at his Arizona home and summers at his lake cabin. Stu was preceded in death by his parents, brother Philip and sisters Eileen and Rebecca. He is survived by wife Mimi, daughters Karen (Phillip) Hines, Anna Judith (Karl) Koller, son Matthew (Juliane) Carlson, grandchildren Kasia, Karina and Katherine Koller, Emma and Nicolas Carlson, and beloved Yorkie Charlie; also survived by sister Jane (Gary) Jesse and many nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to Methodist Hospital Hospice and the staff at The Waters of Plymouth for their kind and loving care of Stu. A private family gathering is planned.
