Carlson, John A. age 84 of Andover, formerly of N.E. Mpls. passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 22. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly; and parents, Harold and Margaret. John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy; sons, Mike (Teresa), Steve (Amy); grandchildren, Melissa, Amy, Michael, Andrea, Michaela, Donelle, Keldon, Alex, Jack, and Abby; 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carla (Mike); niece, Cari; and nephew, Bryan. John served on the Minneapolis Park Police for 25 years, eventually retiring as Captain. He was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to donors choice.
