McGlennen, Erma age 94, peacefully passed on December 21th, 2017 in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She lived a long, vivid life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by her two children, Ron (Janet) and Karen (David), and six grandchildren, Emma, Sarah, Kylie, Sam, Matt, and Lucas. Erma was born on March 29th, 1923 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduating high school she worked at Kickernick Lingerie Company as a seamstress. She also served as a vital member of the Dayton-Hudson Corporation for many years while she admirably and tirelessly worked to raise her two children. Erma was fortunate to have found a loyal partner in her husband, Howard, whom she cherished in marriage for over four decades. A cornerstone of Erma's life was her faith; she was a steadfast member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Taking to heart the teachings of her faith, she nourished the people around her with love and compassion. One of Erma's defining characteristics was her biting wit. She knew how to light up any room with her clever humor and vivacious laughter. Erma had a feisty personality and sought to give her two cents on any matter, not because she believed herself to be right, but because she wanted you to know she cared and was paying attention. Her grandchildren fondly remember her as a card shark and Yahtzee enthusiast. Erma had a competitive spirit, which made her a formidable opponent. Along with her predilection for gaming, she enjoyed expressing her creativity in the kitchen. Each time they visited their grandmother, Erma's grandchildren savored her delicious baking. In addition to her zeal for card games and cooking, what her grandchildren honored most about their grandmother was her undying support of their educational pursuits and life aspirations. Perhaps most treasured by Erma throughout her life was the opportunity to spend time with her family and friends. It is only natural that her loved ones have come together to celebrate the life of such a caring soul. A Visitation for Erma will be held, Wednesday, January 3rd at Washburn-McReavy Edina, 5000 West 50th Street, Edina, MN 55436 between 5 to 7 pm. Her funeral will be held January 4th with a reviewal at 10 am and a service at 11 am at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard, 4801 France Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN, followed by interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
