Narayana Kocherlakota

Kocherlakota became the 12th president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis on Oct. 8, 2009. This month, Kocherlakota becomes a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), a 12-person committee that makes key decisions about monetary policy in the United States, including interest rates and money supply, with the goal of promoting "maximum employment, stable prices and moderate long-term interest rates." The FOMC meets approximately eight times a year.
