Ostrom, Arnold Jerome (Jerry) age 80, of New Brighton. Born and raised in Evansville, MN. Passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Served over 30 years as a research forester for the U.S. Forest Service, based at the North Central Research Station on the St. Paul Campus of the U of MN. Survived by loving daughters Jennifer Ostrom Liang (Hong-Ming) and Suzanne Christine Berndt (Michael), three grandchildren Craig, Reid, and Paige, and many relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Alice and Carl Ostrom, wife Judith Ann Salter Ostrom, and brother Vernon Ostrom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Wonder Fund or Forests Forever Fund at Three Rivers Park District (threeriversparks.org) or donor's choice. Jerry loved the outdoors and everything associated with our beautiful forests and lakes. He was a master gardener, bringing to life beautiful flowers and native plants. Above all, he loved and cared for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He took great pride in the achievements and creativity of his three grandchildren and always supported them. Memorial Service at 6 PM Friday, November 10 at Faith United Methodist Church, 2708 33rd Ave NE, St. Anthony, MN 55418. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
