Former Vikings linebacker and assistant coach Pete Bercich has been named football coach at Hill-Murray, the school announced Wednesday.

Bercich, 44, will remain as the color analyst for Vikings radio broadcasts, a role he has held since 2007.

He replaces Rick Fryklund at the Maplewood-based private school. Fryklund had the job just one season.

Bercich, a Vikings player for seven years and assistant coach for five, also will be the school's director of development. He is expected to take part in a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday for a new football stadium at the school.

Bercich is the fifth head coach hired by the school since 2011, following Brooks Bollinger, Mark Mauer, Tony Danna and Fryklund.

Reuvers picks Badgers

Lakeville North's Nathan Reuvers, 6-10 junior forward, tweeted on Wednesday he was verbally committing to Wisconsin, one of the first colleges to recruit him heavily.

Reuvers had offers from 24 other Division I programs, including the Gophers, which made a late push. Among other teams that made offers to Reuvers were Clemson, Creighton, DePaul, North Carolina State, Northwestern and Washington State.

Reuvers averaged 19.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game this past season when the Panthers (26-6) lost to Hopkins in the Class 4A championship game.
