"One and done" will be the message preached to boys' basketball teams this week as section tournament play heats up.

In Class 4A, Section 6, that means two teams ranked in the top 10 by Minnesota Basketball News already will be out of contention by the end of Saturday.

Here is a look at a few of the most intriguing sections in the metro area:

Class 4A

Section 2: A wide-open field that lacks a real heavyweight. To prove how balanced the field is, top-seeded Shakopee (19-6) takes on No. 8 Burnsville (8-18) in a quarterfinal matchup. When they played during the regular season, Shakopee prevailed in overtime. The Sabers and Chanhassen (18-7) are the top two seeds, but No. 3 Bloomington Kennedy (16-9) is riding a six-game winning streak.

Section 3: No. 1-rated Apple Valley (25-1) and Duke recruit Tyus Jones appear to be a lock, but No. 6 East Ridge (22-4) and Cretin-Derham Hall (20-6) are on the other side of the bracket. The Suburban East Conference teams split their two regular-season matchups.

Section 5: No. 3-ranked Champlin Park (22-2) and No. 9 Osseo (18-7) appear headed for one final showdown. The Northwest Suburban powers also split their two regular-season battles. The health of Ian Theisen, the Orioles' senior center who has been sidelined because of a high ankle sprain, could determine the champion.

Section 6: An off night here in all likelihood means an end to the season. There are four teams worthy of a state tournament berth in No. 2 Hopkins (25-1), No. 4 Eden Prairie (20-6), No. 7 Minnetonka (18-8) and No. 8 Armstrong (20-5). Eden Prairie was previously in Section 2.

Class 3A

Section 3: Two-time defending state champion and No. 2-ranked DeLaSalle (20-3) is the big favorite. If the Islanders rolls through the section, it could be a sign of things to come in the state tournament. The Islanders, riding a 16-game winning streak, have been playing at a high level since senior forward and Stanford recruit Reid Travis returned to the lineup. No. 5 Totino-Grace (20-5) and No. 8 Columbia Heights (19-6) are in the field.

Section 6: Third-ranked Holy Family (24-2) and No. 1 St. Paul Johnson (25-2) in Section 4 appear to be the most likely threats to prevent a three-peat by the Islanders. No. 9 Waconia (17-8) and Benilde-St. Margaret's (14-11) stand in the way of the Fire.
