Career: The Dental Center in 1983-84, then joined a Brooklyn Center practice in 1985. Bought a practice in north Minneapolis on 41st and Colfax in 1986. A decade later, he bought a practice from retiring dentist Tad Gates in New Brighton and combined the two offices.
Education: Spent 2 1/2 years as an undergraduate at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and one year at the University of Minnesota when he was accepted at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He graduated from dental school in 1983.
Personal: Wife Lois and a blended family of two children each and four grandchildren.
