On probation for molesting a woman in Anoka County, a 27-year-old man raped a 17-year-old girl he met on Facebook after meeting her at a park northeast of the Twin Cities, according to prosecutors.

Robert L. Holden III, of Linwood Township, was charged last week in Pine County District Court with three counts of criminal sexual conduct in connection with the late-night assault on May 10 in Robinson Park in Pine City. Holden remains jailed in lieu of $400,000 bail and has yet to secure legal counsel.

Holden was convicted in January of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct for molesting a 22-year-old woman as she slept on the couch as a guest of his sister in the Holden home in April 2015.

A one-year jail sentence was stayed, and Holden was put on two years' probation in January, barring him from unsupervised contact with females under 18 years old.

The teen in the latest allegation told sheriff's deputies that Holden arrived at the park and asked her to get in his car. She refused, and that's when he pushed her to the ground, stripped off some of her clothes and raped her, according to the criminal complaint. At one point, she added, he had his forearm pressed against her neck

The girl said she had met Holden through Facebook and told him she was at the park but did not invite him there, the complaint continued.

Under questioning, Holden acknowledged that the teen told him to stop but added that he "just kept going" during what he described as an arranged meeting, the complaint read.
