Thursday-next Sunday: For its annual candlelight concert, Rose Ensemble performs music of the "Sibyls of the Rhine," a new program of medieval chant and polyphony from 13th-century Germany and France. Likely most well-known is the unearthly music and mystic poetry of Hildegard von Bingen, then a newly canonized abbess. Also included is a Gregorian Vespers service, along with poet-minstrel Frauenlob's exquisite "Song of Songs." To celebrate the ensemble's 15th anniversary, there's a revival of William Beckstrand's "Tears of the Soul," written for the ensemble in 1998.
