Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was victorious today in his return from a concussion. Cleared by an independent neurologist on Friday evening, he threw for 140 yards and a touchdown in the 30-14 win over the Raiders.

"It was a long week but the Vikings and the NFL take concussions very seriously," he said. "They did a great job of monitoring everything."

After Bridgewater practiced Wednesday, albeit on a limited basis, he "knew there was a chance I was going to be out there." He practiced fully Thursday and Friday and was then given the green light to start against the Raiders.

Bridgewater suffered his concussion in last weekend's 21-18 win over the Rams. Bridgewater was shouldered in the head by Rams rookie cornerback Lamarcus Joyner, who has claimed the illegal hit was not intentional.

"Like Joyner said, we've known each other since high school," Bridgewater said, publicly commenting on the hit for the first time, after today's win over the Raiders. "So I don't think he had any bad intentions."

Bridgewater said he wasn't worried for his well-being against the Raiders, a week after he appeared to get knocked out against the Rams. He was hit seven times and sacked four times. He also scrambled twice for 23 yards.

"Last week was in the past. I can't let one play, one hit determine how I play the next game," Bridgewater said. "I'm still going to continue to play the game the way I played it, if it's keeping a play alive or buying time out of the pocket. I'm going to continue to do that and I think it's one of my strengths."
