Authorities have identified the victim in a deadly crash that happened Saturday morning on the Lafayette Bridge.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol:
Ivvie Harrell, 45, of St. Paul, died after being ejected from his 1999 GMC Yukon when it hit a concrete median barrier on the bridge, which spans the Mississippi River in St. Paul.
The crash occurred shortly after 5 a.m.
Harrell's vehicle was in the right lane headed northbound on Hwy. 52 when it went straight on a curve, hitting the concrete barrier. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to a State Patrol report, and he died at the scene. No alcohol was detected in his system.
The road conditions were icy at the time of the crash.
