No matter what they call them, cities and towns across the area are gearing up fro community-wide gatherings.

FAMILY FUN FEST: Craft and car show, parade. Fireworks ­July 12. July 11-12. Andover City Hall, 1685 Crosstown Blvd. NW. 763-755-5100.


RIVERFEST AND CRAFT FAIR: More than 140 juried crafters and artisans display and sell their wares; live music, food vendors, family activities and boat rides. Held in downtown Anoka. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. July 12. City of Anoka, 2015 1st Av. N. 763-421-7130.

ANOKA COUNTY FAIR: Midway, live music, 4-H demonstrations and more. 10 a.m.-10 p.m. ­July 22-26; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. July 27. $4-$9. Anoka County Fairgrounds, 3203 NW. St. Francis Blvd. 763-427-4070.


AVIATION DAYS: Vendors and exhibitors offering the latest in aviation products, pilot safety seminars and aviation programs. Also kids activities, hangar dance and aircraft rides. BLAINE FESTIVAL: Demonstrations, seminars, craft show, vendor fair, entertainment, family activities. 5 p.m. June 27;

EARLE BROWN DAYS: Parade, golf tournament, kids fishing contest and family activities. Fireworks at 10 p.m. June 28. 6:30 p.m. June 26; 9 a.m. June 27; 10 a.m. June 28. Centennial Park, 6301 Shingle Creek ­Pkwy. 763-569-3400.
