Folkways of the Holidays at The Landing, 2187 Hwy. 101 E. in Shakopee near Valleyfair, has two major parts:

Weekends in December

Folk art performances, trolleys pulled by Percheron horses, costumed interpreters, tours of homes with decorations and crafts. Food for purchase in the Depot. (Weekends prior to Christmas only.)

Fee: $5 ages 18-64, $3 ages 2-17 and seniors, younger kids free

Hours: 10-4 Saturday, 11-4 Sunday. Last entry 3 p.m.

Entertainment: Dec. 8: Lara Swanson; Dec. 9: Curtis and Loretta; Dec. 15: Wayzata Women's Chorus; Dec. 16: St. Paul Czech Dancers; Dec. 22: Village Christmas Pageant, Santa Claus, live reindeer from noon to 4 p.m.; Dec. 23: Jeff and Christine Nordin

Folkways by Candlelight

On Dec, 21, from 5 to 8:30 p.m., candlelit paths to homes on Town Square, with costumed residents sharing holiday traditions. Christmas Pageant in the Town Hall at 6:30 p.m., live music by Butternut Squash. Food for purchase in the Depot. Last entry 7:30 p.m.

Fee: $5 ages 18-64, $3 ages 2-17 and seniors, under 2 free.
