The East Metro Symphony Orchestra will present "Concertos with Friends," its first concert of the season, at 3 p.m. next Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Loft Stage at East Ridge High School, 4200 Pioneer Drive in Woodbury.
The program will feature three soloists:
Kelly Karow, South Wash-ington County's high school orchestra director, performing the rarely heard oboe concerto L'Horloge de Flore -- "The Flower Clock."
Elizabeth Prielozny Barnes, the symphony's music director and conductor, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major.
Orchestra concertmaster Michal Sobieski performing the Brahms Violin Concerto. Sobieski is a member of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and will be available at the door. Students with a School District 833 ID receive free admission.
"Tricks and Treats with the Mighty Organ," featuring organist Bill Chouinard, is scheduled for 6 p.m. next Sunday, Oct. 28, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi.
Music will include the Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by Bach. With special lighting and effects, the performance is designed for young listeners, and children are invited to come in costume.
Papa Murphy's pizza will be sold by the slice from 4:30-6 p.m. in the Youth and Sports Center. Refreshments and treats for kids will be served after the program.
St. Andrew's Lutheran Church is located at 900 Stillwater Road in Mahtomedi, about a mile north of Hwy. 36 on Hilton Trail, just east of the 694/35E interchange.

A free Fall Festival & Family Fun are planned from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 1583 Radio Drive in Woodbury.
A dinner from 5:30-7 p.m. will feature hot dogs, brats, baked beans, coleslaw, grapes, carrots, bars and cookies, and keg root beer. A free-will offering will be collected for dinner. A cake walk, bingo and a non-scary costume party and games for kids will run from 6:30-8 p.m.
