A Minneapolis woman faces assault charges after allegedly striking a disabled man in the head with a brick in St. Paul on Wednesday.

The 57-year-old victim, who has Parkinson's disease, told police the woman tried to prostitute herself while the two were at a SuperAmerica station just north of I-94 on Lexington Parkway by asking him if he wanted to party.

He said that he declined the offer, but then was unable to get away from the woman because of his disability.

The suspect, Davina Rulford, 22, threw the brick at the man while the two were in a nearby alley, according to a complaint filed Friday charging her with second- and third-degree assault.

Rulford, who has a previous prostitution conviction, allegedly told police that the man snatched money from her and tripped over his cane as he tried to run away. She denied hitting him, the charges say.

The victim, who was taken to Regions Hospital, was diagnosed with a concussion, the complaint states.
