UPDATE: On Monday, authorities identified the man as Jerome William Jackson, 58.
A 58-year-old homeless man who was found dead at Indian Mounds Regional Park last weekend died from exposure to the cold, according to preliminary autopsy results.
A man searching for deer antlers Saturday near Earl Street and Mounds Boulevard discovered the deceased man in a homemade shack at the park. Police have said that it didn't appear his death was suspicious. Toxicology results are pending.
The Ramsey County medical examiner's office has identified the man but have not released his name because the office has yet to find next of kin, said Lori Hedican, the office's chief investigator.
