Tuesday's rush resembled something of a demolition derby out there as crashes abounded all morning. They started with a pair on eastbound Hwy. 10 in Ramsey just before 6 a.m. and police were busy from then on.

The current list of crashes as include:

  • A pair on southbound 35W. One is at County Road I and another ahead at County C. That one involves a Metro Mobility bus
  • Southbound 35E at County Road E
  • Westbound Hwy. 36 at Cleveland Avenue
  • Eastbound 94 at LaSalle Avenue, two crashes in progress
  • Northbound Cedar Avenue at 66th Street
  • Eastbound Hwy. 212 at Mitchell Road
  • Northbound 35W just before Hwy. 13
  • Eastbound 94 at Plymouth Avenue

The right lane of eastbound 94 at Snelling Avenue is out of service as Xcel Energy does utility work in the area. That's enough to clog up traffic. Now to go with that, we have a bus/car wreck on the right. Traffic slows at Cretin Avenue.

Southbound Hwy. 280 turned to gridlock just after 7 a.m. when a left-lane crash occurred at Energy Park Drive.

Commuters on westbound 94 never got in gear as crashes throughout the morning kept things knotted up. Crashes at Earl Street, Mounds Blvd. and Hwy. 52 were spaced just far enough a part that traffic never had a chance to recover.

Downtown Minneapolis was crammed on I-94 in both directions, although eastbound drivers had it the worst. Crashes at LaSalle Avenue and Groveland Avenue kept things creeping along.

Southbound 35E had a hiccup with a late-morning crash around County Road E while southbound 35W ran slow all morning. The latest mishap at County C involved three vehicles and a Metro Mobility bus.
