8:10 a.m. update: Semi fire out in 94 in St. Michael

A semitrailer truck that was reported to have been on fire is now sitting on the right shoulder of eastbound 94 just past the Hwy. 241 interchange. That's got folks slowing to gawk and causing traffic to jam up in the immediate area.

Closer to the metro, northbound 35W has gone sour through south Minneapolis. A stall and crash at Diamond Lake Road is the beginning of the slowness that remains in place up to Lake Street.

I-94 both directions drags between the downtown, although westbound seems to be worse. A crash at Dale Street just cleared out, but westbound traffic is quite sluggish from Marion Street past the scene.  Look for a rejam at Hiawatha Avenue.

Things are slower than usual on eastbound 394. Plan on 15 minutes from 494 to downtown Minneapolis. That pattern continues on eastbound 94 through the Lowry Hill Tunnel.
