Good morning, commuters!

The snow came as predicted, but it arrived later than expected. And it continues to fall, which promises to make the morning drive a tough one.

Roads are in fair condition in the immediate metro, but MnDOT reports difficult driving conditions just to the north and west of the Twin Cities, including in places such as St. Michael, St. Francis, Watertown, Elk River and Buffalo. To the south, difficult conditions in places such as Northfield, New Prague and south of Hastings.

Making things worse, the winds are picking up.

Currently we have a couple crashes in the metro. A semitrailer truck jackknifed on the ramp from northbound 494 to westbound 94 in Woodbury and landed in the ditch.

In St. Louis Park, southbound Hwy. 100 has the right lane blocked with an accident at 23rd Street, just south of I-394.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
