Nobody got hurt but...

Three teenage hunters from Thief River Falls were probably a bit embarrassed after they got lost for the better part of Saturday while hunting in the 16,000-acre Elm Lake Wildlife Management Area about 10 miles northeast of the city, the Grand Forks Herald reports.

At one point in mid afternoon, one of the hunters dialed 911 on a cell phone and reported to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office that the three -- two 17 year olds and one 18 year old -- had been lost for about seven hours. Then his cell phone went dead.

An exhaustive search by deputies from several sheriff's offices and other law enforcement agencies, along with the parents of the teens ended when they were found safe about 10:45 p.m.
