An online organic meat-and-produce retailer is facing scrutiny by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) after what it called a "significant uptick" in consumer complaints. The bureau received 20 complaints against Victoria-based Nature's Prime Organic Food Inc. in May claiming that orders were weeks late or incomplete, said BBB spokesman Dan Hendrickson. Pascha Derkevics, national marketing director for the company, said that it took part in an online coupon offer in December and has "been playing catch up." She said shipping hours have recently been extended. Derkevics explained a problem with selling fresh meat: "When you get an influx of orders, you can only get so many cuts out of one animal."
