These are taxing times for the populace, and thus vexing times for wine enthusiasts. With federal and state taxes due Tuesday, many are waiting till the last minute to file their papers with Uncle Sam and the state, while others are feeling a bit indigent after forking over their levies.
That means, at least for many of us, seeking out some fermented grape juice at seriously reduced prices.
The bad news: Sorting through $10-and-under wines involves kissing a lot of frogs.
The good news: After a lot of amphibian-smooching, we have unearthed 10 wines that cost $10 or less and deliver quality usually found at twice the price.
The better news: These are great wines whether you're pinching pennies or not.
