'Xanadu' ticket for $49 includes dinner Dancing male muses in chiffon, a hero wearing a headband and tube socks pulled to his knees, and a treacly version of "Have You Never Been Mellow." All of this is proof that Chanhassen Dinner Theatres is taking chances and having fun again. Its latest production of the musical "Xanadu" was described by Star Tribune critic Graydon Royce as the "perfect spirit of camp and hokum." A sendup of the 1980 movie with Olivia Newton-John, this is the first and only production in the Midwest. It's also a great deal. Tickets are $49 for dinner and the show on all performances, including Saturdays, through Sept. 29, but only if purchased by Monday. To order tickets, go to www.chanhassendt.com or call 952-934-1525 and use discount code "49."

Fragrance-free sunscreens Choosing a sunscreen isn't as simple as choosing an SPF. There is also regular or sport performance, water or sweat resistance, and UVA or UVB. But one characteristic often forgotten is scented or unscented. People who are sensitive to strong fragrances or just don't like the smell can look for unscented varieties. Check at pharmacies, co-ops, health food stores and Whole Foods for brands such as Aubrey Organics Natural Sun Unscented Sensitive Skin (SPF 30), Alba Botanica Natural Very Emollient Sunblock (SPF 30) or Vanicream sunscreens in SPF 30, 35 and 60, which are made in Rochester. They can be pricey ($15 for 4 oz. of 35-sport SPF at Walgreens), but Costco sells it for $11.27 at its pharmacy counter. For more information about individual sunscreens, ingredients and sensitivity, check www.ewg.org.

'Germ-free' pedicure special Those who have avoided pedicures due to worries about germs can consider a new jet-free pedicure at E SalonSpa (755 E. Lake St., Wayzata, 952-473-1992, www.esalon4u.com). The Pibbs massage and pedicure chair cleans the feet with vibration and heat in a tub instead of whirlpool jets. A fresh tray/liner is used for each client, said salon owner Susan Eyton. Now through July 15, get the $50 pedicure/massage for $35.
