Lennon shooter considered taking out Johnny Carson:

I don't know if it would proof of insanity if he remembered or proof of insanity if he didn't. I don't even know if he's insane; he seems to say that he had no grudge towards anyone, but just wanted instant notoriety. Mission accomplished there, fella.
