The week before the 4th of July is a good time to stock up on supermarket items that traditionally go on sale before the 4th, including hot dogs, hamburgers, barbecue sauce, condiments, charcoal, salad dressing, potato chips, dips and soda pop. This week Rainbow and Cub have Pepsi on sale. Rainbow's price is $1.98 per 12-pack, but you have to purchase five 12-packs and spend an additional $10. Cub's price is $2.22 per 12-pack, but you have to purchase four and bring the coupon from Sunday's flier. You have until Wednesday, June 27 to get a deal on Coke at Lunds/Byerly's.

The store has four 12-packs of Coke on sale for $9 (must buy four). Target, which has 4 12-packs of Pepsi on sale this week for $11, might match the Lunds' price, but not Rainbow or Cub's. Target will not match prices with minimum spending amounts or required coupons. Wal-Mart tends to be less restrictive in its price-match policy.

There will probably be more soda pop sales next week, but the prices quoted above won't get much lower. Paying around $2 for a 12-pack was a good deal five years ago, before prices nearly doubled due to the high price of corn syrup.
