Blonde ambition Courteney Cox makes her movie directorial debut with "Tall Hot Blonde" (7 p.m. Saturday, Lifetime), a disturbing film with nothing "friendly" about it. Garret Dillahunt plays a withdrawn father who falls for a sexy, young woman online -- or what he thinks is a young woman.

Terms of endearment Warren Beatty, Sally Field, Don Rickles and Julia Roberts are among the hotshots scheduled to be part of "TV Land Presents: AFI Life Achievement Award Honoring Shirley MacLaine" (8 p.m. Sunday, TV Land). The Oscar-winning actress gets bonus points if she concludes her acceptance speech by demanding that someone give her daughter the shot.

'Help' is on the way Showtime subscribers who didn't get around to seeing one of the most buzzed-about movies of 2011 will get their chance as the pay-cable station offers the television debut of "The Help" (9 p.m. Sunday, Showtime), featuring an Oscar-winning performance from Octavia Spencer.

Breaking news Those who love the rat-a-tat writing style of Aaron Sorkin ("The West Wing," "The Social Network") will be delighted by his latest effort, "The Newsroom" (9 p.m. Sunday, HBO), starring Jeff Daniels as a conflicted cable news anchor.
