Sunday

"Stephen King's Bag of Bones" (8 p.m., A&E) gets off to a creaky start with Pierce Brosnan's character puttering around his lake house, trying to recover from the death of his wife. The goosebumps rise on Night Two (Monday) as the mystery unravels and the ghosts come out to play. Stick with it.

Monday

Chelsea Clinton, who once pleaded for us to leave her alone, has suddenly gotten over her shyness. The former first daughter makes her debut as a correspondent for "Rock Center With Brian Williams" (9 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11) with a piece on a charity based in -- where else? -- Arkansas.

Tuesday

"The Biggest Loser" (8 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11) ends its 12th season by handing out $250,000 to the actual winner and $100,000 to the at-home winner. The show also waves goodbye to trainer Anna Kournikova. The former tennis pro wasn't nearly as bad as I thought she'd be, but she just didn't have the warmth to wriggle into contestants' -- and our -- hearts.

Wednesday

This Christmas, give your kids the gift of ballet by having them watch "George Balanchine's the Nutcracker" (7 p.m., KTCA, Ch. 2), featuring the New York City Ballet and 50 children. This latest edition of "Live From Lincoln Center" is the best way to introduce them to an art form that can feel intimidating without just the right costumes, music and story line.

Thursday

Idiots not quite stupid enough for "Jackass" create their own level of mischief in "Impractical Jokers" (9 p.m., TruTV), a new hidden-camera series in which four friends challenge one another to do ridiculous public dares. Say what you will about the "Jersey Shore" kids, but at least their stupid human tricks aren't done on purpose.
