James Sewell Ballet's Ballet Works Project, a program celebrating experimentation in dance, has its origins as a studio-based performance, so it's only fitting that this year's edition returns to its familiar low-tech environment - with a twist. JSB has refurbished its second-floor studio at the Cowles Center into the snazzy TEK BOX, so expect a fresh opportunity to experience new works in a re-imagined venue. Sewell has invited three choreographers to inspire his ready-for-anything dancers. Expect boundary-pushing work from guest artists Eddie Oroyan (pictured) and Karen Sherman plus company members Nic Lincoln and Sally Rousse as well as a tango-fueled collaboration between Sabine Ibes and Sewell.
