Ex-Lifter Puller guitarist and Hawaii Show man Steve Barone's newish band the Ronnie Buxtons — with other scene vets such as Jeaneen Gauther and Die Electric drummer Misha Dashavesky — show how much fun they're having in both the GBV-esque pop/rock tunes and title of their first album, "Getting Together," which they're touting Friday at the 331 Club on Friday. Barone is promising a second companion disc, "Breaking Up" — "when the band can't stand each other," he said. …

Art-a-Whirl is shaping up to be bigger than ever music-wise. Bauhaus Brew Labs will join the May 16-17 fray around northeast Minneapolis with a party featuring Black Diet, Black Market Brass and a few non-"Black" bands, while the 331 Club, Grumpy's, Indeed and Anchor Fish & Chips also have choice lineups.
