Wine
New World chardonnays are improving mightily as more and more vintners let the fruit shine. The 2012 Lapostolle "Casa" Grand Selection Chardonnay ($12) has alluring tropical notes on the nose and palate, with great purity and length. There's nice roundness from beginning to end, but some deft underlying acidity to avert over-richness. Try it with smoked or fried fowl or fish. Available at Surdyk's, most MGMs, Liquor Barn, Tournament, Liquor Boy, Hennepin Lake, Hum's and others.
