His Web series "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" is broadcast on the streaming site Crackle, which he praises thusly: "When you get to a certain point in the business, what a man is looking for in a network is the same as in his underwear: a little bit of support and a little bit of freedom." He also took a jab at user-generated content and the sites such as YouTube that host them, calling them "garbage cans."

Judge Harry Connick Jr. took an "American Idol" contestant to task after he pronounced the competition "wack." Quentin Alexander's version of "Are You Gonna Go My Way" earned mostly positive reviews, but he was angry "two of the best vocalists" were in the bottom two. "For you to say that to this hand that is feeding you right now, I think, is highly disrespectful," Connick told Alexander, while Ryan Seacrest tried in vain to smooth things over.
