Target unveils...uh...something in New York Thursday

I'll say this about Target: the company sure knows how to build suspense.

The Minneapolis-based retailer mysteriously invited news media to attend an unspecified event in New York City Thursday. What exactly, I don't know.

There are a few clues. Target said it will unveil "the next chapter in Target's design partnership model." So rather than just announcing another limited Jason Wu or Missoni collaboration, the company seems to planning something more permanent or longer lasting to how it approaches exclusive merchandise partnerships.

Attending the event, held at Highline Studios in the New York's trendy Meatpacking District in Chelsea, are two Target executives: Stacia Andersen, senior vice president of home division, and Brian Robinson, director of fashion and design partnerships.

I somehow managed to con my editors into letting me attend. So as soon as I find out what's going on, I'll post to this blog.
