Nobody seemed ready to hibernate during the final Sunday of the Kingfield Market in south Minneapolis.

The unseasonably warm weather last weekend brought out a crowd, many of whom clamored for their last chance to sample mini-doughnuts from the Chef Shack this year. Carrie Summer and Lisa Carlson, the duo behind the popular street vendor, will pack up for a winter vacation, where they'll be traveling and tasting their way across Asia.

While they're globe-trotting, many other vendors from the market will be at a special indoor event Saturday at King Center Park, where attendees can stock up on freezables, canned goods and gifts.

It's likely to be a long, cold winter for fans of the fresh produce, bread and plant-dyed yarns, such as 3-year-old Darius Regulus of Minneapolis, who said his favorites are the cider doughnuts and pickles.

"We'll have to find a new winter tradition," said Rachel Baudler, who biked to the market all summer with her fiancé, Jonathan Blaseg. Starting this weekend, Baudler and Blaseg said, Patisserie 46 will be a regular Sunday stop.
