New details on Walker Art Center's commission for a featurette from the celebrated Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul. The project will be a video, running about 10 minutes in length, and as such will first be seen on the museum's Walker Channel, which streams live and archived performances, events and lectures (walkerart.org/channel)..

Weerasethakul (who encourages Westerners to call him "Joe") is known for efforts that are beautiful, oblique and strange. He won the 2010 Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or for “Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives,” an eerie family saga/ghost story featuring a princess who has a splashing, thrashing sexual encounter with a catfish.
