      3. These Terms of Sale Apply to Your Purchase or Use of Digital Products

      • We accept all major credit cards. We reserve the right to reject any order or purchase at any time.

      • To view or change your payment method, visit StarTribune.com/myaccount.
    4. Pricing back to top
      • When you purchase a Digital Product, the price will be made clear during the order process. You agree to pay the price that is stated at the time of your order, as well as any applicable taxes. You also agree to the billing frequency stated at the time of your order.
      • Discount eligibility is determined at the time of the order. Discounts cannot be applied retroactively.
      • Settlement of any past due balance is required before your new subscription can begin. Monies collected may first be applied to any inactive account in your name that has a balance due. This may result in consecutive charges to your credit card.
      • All prices are in United States Dollars.
      • Star Tribune reserves the right to change prices and fees at any time. We will notify you in advance if the Regular Rate of a product changes from what was stated at the time of your order (or, with respect to subsequent changes, if the Regular Rate changes from the most recent rate you have been paying). You will have the opportunity to accept the new price or cancel your subscription or purchase from that point forward.
      • Applicable taxes may vary. We are not able to notify you in advance of changes in applicable taxes.
      • If we learn of a typographical or other error in a rate that we or someone acting on our behalf has offered, we are not under any obligation to offer you the product or service at that price. In any such event, we will notify you of the error and give you the opportunity to cancel your order and obtain a refund if payment has already been made.
      1. Additional Costs
        • If your product includes access to areas that contain other products, you may have to pay additional fees to fully access those products. These additional charges will be clearly stated.
        • When you use your Digital Product, you may incur other additional charges, such as telecommunications fees, data fees or service provider fees. You are responsible for paying any additional charges.
        • If you believe someone else has used your account or you are being charged for a product you do not have, please contact digitalaccess@startribune.com.
    5. Billing back to top
      1. Digital Subscriptions
        • We will charge or debit your payment method at the beginning of your subscription or, if applicable, at the end of your free trial period. Billing will continue according to the cycle stated at the time of your order. To view information about your billing cycle, visit StarTribune.com/myaccount.
        • All Star Tribune Digital Subscriptions are renewed automatically. When we renew your subscription, we will use the payment method currently associated with your account. You may view your payment method at any time in the StarTribune.com/myaccount.
        • You will not be notified in advance of impending renewals. Please see our Cancellation and Refund Policy, below, for information about canceling.
      2. Other Digital Products (e.g., One-Time Purchases)
        • When you purchase a Digital Product that is not a Digital Subscription (e.g., a gift subscription or a download of an article from Star Tribune’s archive), we will charge or debit your payment method at the moment of purchase.
    6. Service and Billing Continue Beyond Initial Order Period Unless You Cancel back to top
      • You acknowledge that service and billing continues beyond the expiration of your subscription for a period of time unless you cancel your subscription in accordance with our Cancellation and Refund Policy. Service and billing continue even if your credit card expires or your payment method is otherwise invalid.
      • You will be responsible for all costs we incur in connection with the collection of unpaid amounts, including course costs, attorneys’ fees, collection agency fees and any other associated costs.
    7. Promotions back to top
      • We may occasionally offer promotions. The specific terms of each promotion are stated at the time the promotion is offered. Each promotion may be different. Promotions may not be combined.
      • You are required to provide your payment details when you sign up for a promotion. At the end of the promotion, you will automatically be signed up for the related subscription or purchase that will begin at the end of the Introductory Period. We will not notify you in advance that the promotion is about to end. To cancel and avoid being charged, you must notify us before the promotion ends.
      1. Promotions Offered to New Subscribers
        • Introductory Period. If you are a new subscriber to Star Tribune products and services (or are establishing a new subscriber account with Star Tribune), we will charge your payment method for the amount of your order. The amount we charge will be the weekly Introductory Rate quoted to you in the Promotional Offer, times the number of weeks in your Introductory Period.
        • Automatic Renewal. Your Digital Subscription (and any associated Home Delivery Subscription) comes with the convenience of automatic renewal, charged to the payment method you have provided, until you decide to cancel. Each renewal subscription will be 13 weeks long (unless otherwise stated in your introductory offer). You can contact us to select a longer subscription term. You will be charged at whatever Regular Rate then-currently applies to that type of subscription as of the date that renewal subscription term begins. (For instance, if Star Tribune increases the rate applicable to your next renewal subscription term, and you do not cancel your subscription, the higher rate will apply when your subscription automatically renews.) You will be notified in advance of increases on your automatic renewal rate.
      2. Promotions Offered to Existing Subscribers
        • If you are upgrading your existing Star Tribune subscription account to add a Digital Product Subscription, we will process your upgrade purchase as follows:
          • Upgrade. Your existing subscription will be upgraded as soon as possible upon receipt of your upgrade order to add the new products and services (for example, a Digital Subscription).
          • Orders Placed During a Subscription Term. If you are in the midst of a paid subscription term when you place your upgrade order (for example, if you have paid for a 13-week Sunday-only Home Delivery Subscription, and only 7 weeks of your current Home Delivery Subscription have elapsed), you may not be immediately billed for the upgrade. Instead, the payment you made for your existing Home Delivery Subscription will also be applied to your upgrade. The length of your existing Home Delivery Subscription will be adjusted accordingly.
          • How Long Your Introductory Rate Applies. For digital and/or print upgrades to an existing subscription, the Introductory Rate applies to the adjusted remainder of your current subscription and to your first renewal subscription. For subsequent automatic renewals, the rate that will apply will be whatever Regular Rate then-currently applies to that type of subscription as of the date that renewal subscription term begins. (For instance, if Star Tribune increases the rate applicable to your next renewal subscription term and you do not cancel your subscription, the higher rate will apply when your subscription automatically renews.)
          • After Your Introductory Rate Expires. When your Introductory Rate expires, your digital and/or print upgrade subscription will be automatically renewed at whatever Regular Rate then-currently applies to that type of subscription as of the date that renewal subscription term begins. We will process your renewal subscription payment using the same payment method you had previously selected (or a new payment method you select by notifying us in advance).
    8. Viewing Your Subscription Information back to top
    9. Purchases from Third Parties back to top
      • If you have purchased your Digital Product through a third party, these Terms of Sale may not apply to you. We are not liable to you for any claims related to purchases made through third parties. Please contact the third party directly.

If your account shows a balance due, you will remain liable for the balance until it is paid.
        • We reserve the right to issue refunds or credits at our sole discretion. If we issue a refund or credit, we are under no obligation to issue the same or similar refund in the future.
      2. Cancellation and Refunds of Digital Products Other than Digital Subscriptions

        • Without limiting the preceding paragraph:
          • Changes to Content or Access. We reserve the right to make changes to our products and services (including but not limited to our Digital Offerings and Digital Products, and including but not limited to changes to content and/or access) at any time. Any changes we make will not entitle you to a refund.
          • Unavailability of Content or Access. From time to time, our Digital Offerings and/or Digital Products may be temporarily unavailable. We do not warrant that our Digital Offerings or Digital Products will be available without interruption. Any such interruption or unavailability of our Digital Offerings or Digital Products will not entitle you to a refund.
          • Third Parties. We reserve the right to temporarily reduce or eliminate the charge to certain third parties for content or access that you are currently paying for under different terms. Our doing so will not entitle your to a refund.
      4. Typographical or Other Errors in Rates
        • If we discover a typographical or other error in a rate that we or someone acting on our behalf has offered, we are not under any obligation to offer you the product or service at that price. In any such event, we will notify you of the error and give you the opportunity to cancel your order and obtain a refund if payment has already been made.
    2. Cancellation by Star Tribune back to top
      • We reserve the right, at any time, to reject any order or purchase and to cancel your Digital Subscription (and any associated Home Delivery Subscription), in whole or in part, with or without cause (including but not limited to by reason of any failure, revocation or invalidity of your payment method). If we cancel your subscription, we will refund to you the unused portion (if any) of the amount of your prepaid subscription that corresponds to what we have canceled. If your account shows a balance due, you will remain liable for the balance until it is paid.
      • If you believe your access and/or subscription has been terminated in error, please email us at digitalaccess@startribune.com or call us at 800-328-4333 or 612-673-7447.
