Stephen Colbert's 'Late Show' debut gets standing ovation on social media

Stephen Colbert made his highly-anticipated debut on the "Late Show" Tuesday, and while millions of viewers were glued to their TVs, they still took time away to share their opinion of the premiere on social media.

David Letterman's replacement on the long-running CBS late-night show welcomed George Clooney and Jeb Bush as his first guests, along with bandleader Jon Batiste and his entourage, Stay Human.

However, it was his sugary feeding frenzy that was the biggest hit on social media after a skit comparing the media coverage of Donald Trump to eating Oreos sparked sweet cravings.

"Damn you … now I want Oreos and all I have is grapes," one user wrote.

It wasn't just fans tweeting about Colbert on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, rival late-night hosts Jimmy Fallon and James Corden sent their support.

"To our friends at @colbertlateshow, congrats on your first show and hopefully dozens more. Break a finger," Fallon wrote, in reference to his own busted digit.

That Oreo skit was the best metaphor for the media's relationship with @realDonaldTrump I've seen so far #LateShow @StephenAtHome
